About

Twin Cedar Pond is a historic Hudson Valley compound, where a restored 1800s farmhouse and modern poolhouse sit within a landscape that changes with the rhythm of the seasons. Swim laps or enjoy a soak in the 4-season swim spa, while a movie plays from the projector. Gather around the fire pit on the multi-level deck. The chef's kitchen takes cooking from chore to celebration, as records spin from the music loft above, company gathers around the butcher block counter, & a gas fireplace flickers.

Good to know

Whether you're watching movies from your own private snowglobe of a poolhouse or dining on the deck beneath the twinkle of summer stars and string lights, this is the kind of place where core memories are made and favorite ones are relived, season after season. Even with some of the Hudson Valley's most beloved towns and attractions just a short drive away, many guests find they don't want to leave Twin Cedar Pond. THE FARMHOUSE The main house is a restored 1800s farmhouse that blends history with comfort— original hand-cut beam ceilings, wide-plank floors, and a heated brick herringbone kitchen floor pair thoughtful modern updates throughout. Chef’s Kitchen: With a gas fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and streaming sunlight, the kitchen is the heart of the home — and has been, in one form or another, for over two centuries. - Gas fireplace - Butcher block island with seating - KitchenAid mixer, Instant Pot, waffle maker, Ninja blender - Ample cookware & knives - Full baking equipment, and spices stocked - Cushioned window seat overlooking fenced in yard Music Loft: Tucked above the kitchen on original timber beams, the music loft is a world of its own. The best seat in the house that nobody expects. - Record player with record collection - Thoughtfully sourced art & seating - Sonos system that connects throughout the house. Put a record on and it follows you everywhere. - Coffee table - A guitar that guests are welcome to enjoy Dining Room: A farmhouse table that seats 6 with an easy flow between the kitchen and the living room. - A bar cart stocked with equipment for cocktail hour - Full china set in the buffet cabinet - Cozy, dimmable lighting Living Room: The welcoming living room with original beamed ceilings reminds you this home has been a gathering place for a long time. - Comfortable seating for 6 - LG smart TV - Sonos speakers - View of dining room and kitchen while still feeling tucked away Mudroom: A cozy home for shoes, coats, and pantry overflow. - Washer/dryer - Cleaning supplies and pet cleanup supplies readily available - Drying rack and iron - Large utility sink (perfect for muddy paws) - Antique pantry cabinet Sunroom / Office: Just off the main mudroom entrance is a bright, flexible living and working space - Pull-out sofa - Second TV - Board games & puzzles. The Scrabble board is a nod to Alfred Butts, inventor of the game, who called Stanfordville home! - A dedicated WFH setup with printer - Sunny patio with bistro table and chairs, perfect for a quiet moment Bedrooms - Three bedrooms sleeping up to 6 guests comfortably: First Floor Bedroom — King bed, space comfortably fits pack and play or child travel mattress, WFH setup Second Floor Bedroom — queen bed, space comfortably fits pack and play or child travel mattress, WFH setup Guest bedroom — two twin beds, second floor Bathrooms - Two full bathrooms First Floor: a tub/shower combo with detachable shower hose, bidet, magnifying mirror Second Floor: A stand-up shower and ample linen storage For Families: A pack and play with sheet, high chair, silicone baby plate, baby and toddler books, and two baby gates are all available — supplies are in the king bedroom closet and gates in the mudroom, ready when you need them. Front Porch: Rocking chairs to take in the views during morning coffee or sunset with a nightcap. THE POOLHOUSE A separate, windowed jewelbox built for fun and wellness in all four seasons. In warmer months, doors open wide to the deck and grounds. In winter, light the wood-burning stove, switch on the glow of flameless candles, and watch the space come alive before slipping into the warm water of the swim spa. - Four-Season Swim Spa. Heated year-round, and especially magical in the snow. Swim laps against the current for exercise or dial it back and soak. Accommodates up to 6 guests. - Floatation toys available for children and infants. Cinema: Lower the projector screen and settle in for movie night from the swim spa or beside the wood-burning stove. The poolhouse transforms into a private cinema and one-of-a-kind lounge space. The Details: - Bar area with plastic drinkware and BBQ tools - Refrigerator - Seating: high-top table and chairs, outdoor lounge furniture, and macrame hanging chair - Flameless candles with remote - Wood-burning stove and fire tools - Yoga mats and weights Please note: The poolhouse is heated solely by the wood-burning stove. During cooler months, we recommend starting a fire about an hour before using the swim spa. Many guests find this becomes part of the ritual of the space. For safety, please do not bring glass into the poolhouse or swim spa area. Please handwash the plastic bar glasses, as they may warp in the dishwasher. THE OUTDOORS The land at Twin Cedar Pond has a rhythm all its own. Spring snowmelt creates a seasonal stream along the ridge before spilling into the large pond below, with wildflowers sprinkled across the landscape. Summer brings a cocoon of green foliage, fresh herbs for deck dinners, lawn games, and hammock naps. In fall, the landscape is painted crimson and gold as foliage settles across the property, the nights are just chilly enough to enjoy a late night fire pit. Winter transforms the farmhouse and poolhouse into glowing beacons of warmth in the snow. No two visits feel quite the same. The Deck: The multi-level deck descends from the poolhouse toward the water, designed so there's always a perfect place to gather, dine, or simply take in the view. - Built-in amphitheater seating around the Solo Stove fire pit - Dedicated sunset bench with one of the best views on the property - Original stone foundation walls, now home to a succulent garden - Lower deck with picture-frame opening for views of the pond below - Outdoor dining table for 6 beneath string lights - Four-burner propane grill with grilling tools The Grounds: Beyond the farmhouse and poolhouse, the property invites exploration and discovery. Ponds, gardens, winding paths, and quiet places to linger are tucked into the dynamic landscape. - Three seasonal ponds - Gazebo with stringlights and fan - Scenic ridge with Adirondack chairs overlooking the property - Raised herb and flower beds - Hammock between mature trees - Fenced yard with swings for children and dogs - Lawn games The Ridge: Follow the mown path behind the poolhouse to a secluded ridge overlooking the property. It feels a world away from the Farmhouse below, with Adirondack chairs tucked among the trees and views across the ponds and surrounding land. At sunset, it's one of the most peaceful spots on the property. Outdoor Shower: Perfect for rinsing off on a hot day after the swim spa or a day spent outdoors.

Other Details to Note

Please Note - - While Twin Cedar Pond feels tucked away, the property is located off Route 82. The home is thoughtfully buffered by fencing, trees, and landscaping, but guests may occasionally hear passing traffic when spending time outdoors. - Twin Cedar Pond's water features are natural and seasonal. While the upper ponds remain full throughout the year, the large pond is fed by groundwater and snowmelt and may look quite different depending on rainfall and temperature. During particularly dry summer periods, water levels can recede significantly, filling in with wild grasses before returning with seasonal rains. - Cell service can be inconsistent on parts of the property, a common reality in this corner of the Hudson Valley. Wi-Fi is available throughout the home, and we recommend enabling Wi-Fi calling for the most reliable connection during your stay.
